About Me

Hello my name is Kate and I am an Equestrian photographer based in Bend, Oregon.

I grew up in the countryside of Suffolk, England and there I discovered my love for horses that would shape my life in so many ways!

I have always been horse crazy but I didn’t have my first riding lesson until I was 24 years old when I started my first Physical Therapy job and I could pay for lessons myself. And with that I fell in love with the equestrian way of life. I took a break from riding when I first moved to United States but got back into horses when I moved to Bend. I volunteered at local horse rescues and the therapeutic riding center and then started to take riding lessons again. I took a polo clinic in 2017 and I have been obsessed ever since!

I am lucky enough to live in a town where there are so many equestrian disciplines. There is so much each discipline can teach us and I love learning everything!

As equestrians we dedicate our whole lifestyle to our passion. We are up at all hours in all weather to ensure we provide the amazing care to our best friends. We work hard on perfecting our chosen discipline and imagery is the perfect way your hard work!

It is hard to put into words that feeling we get when they nicker as they walk up to you after a rough day, the feeling when we complete together and the late night hugs. Would it not be amazing to have an image of your best friend on the wall of your home and get the feelings from that moment every time you walk past it!

Photography can speak volumes without saying a word, just like horses. Photography is powerful. It can document and tell stories in ways other mediums cannot.

I grew up surrounded with photography. My Grandad and my Dad always had a camera close by. When I first moved the United States I took a photography class at the local community college and I initially began to specialize in Snowboarding photography. My passion for equestrian photography began creating images for my local horse rescues to tell each horse’s story. I recently had the opportunity to photograph a rescued mustang foal in order to bring awareness and help raise funds for his veterinary care to him a good start in life. It was an honor to be able to tell his story.

It makes me so happy to be able to combine my equine knowledge and the art of photography to document your story and create lasting imagery and memories for you.

“It’s pretty simple, adventure is what you make it. And whether it’s to travel, the discovery, or just the feeling of letting go, the only way we’ll ever find out, is to get out there and do it. Enjoy the ride” (Travis Rice, Art of Flight, 2011)
